Blender 2.78 and C4D R18 support

We just release on sourceforge our plugin for Blender 2.78 and Cinema4D R18 on windows 64 bits  (test on windows 10).
Only ePMV is supported on C4D r18 for now. We will do another release when autoPACK will be functional. See the installation page for blender and cinema 4d.

We just upload our plugins for cinema4D R17. C4D r17 have now switch to python2.7. It make it compatible with the python version of Maya and 3dsMax. In principle you should even be able to call some maya function from within C4D.
You can found the archive in the installation page for mac and windows, or directly on sourceforge.

New uPy (includes ePMV, autoPACK/cellPACK) installers for Cinema 4D r16 and 3D Studio Max 2015

Ludovic has released new installers for 3D Studio Max 2015, and updated package for all other hosts.  Please visit the install page to reinstall the software if you have updated your host software to one of these versions.  Please let us know if you encounter issues so we can debug them ASAP.  Good news for Max users, the Extension pack is no longer required because Python is now included in the 2015 edition.

3dsMax 2015 64bits support specifics

We have just released an installer and an archive for the manual installation of the uPy Suite for the latest 3dsMax software v2015. This version offers more of the functionality that ePMV and autoPACK offer in the other supported hosts thanks to the PySide integration in 3dsMax (Qt interface from python). There are still some issues that we were not able to solve, and we will provide update whenever this issue will be fixed. Some 3dsMax functionality are difficult or impossible to access such as : object scattering (which will improve loading and display time for atoms, molecules  and cellPACK ingredients instances), splines extrusion (worm like representation along a backbone). We hope to work with Autodesk to overcome these issues in the near future. Please provide feedback on the forum so we can debug any issues you encounter.

cellPACK website on its way

A new clean, easier to use cellPACK only website is under development and is posted at cellPACK.org. The new site includes links to our recent cellPACK publications in Nature Methods as well as links to the new Chimera cellPACK model viewer.

VOTE! A video challenge for high school students

The PDB (Protein DataBank) challenged high school students to create short videos (under 2 minutes) that tell a story about HIV/AIDS, similar to our autoPACK Visualization Challenge last year.
Please go tot the site to view the videos and vote on your favorite for the Viewer's Choice awards. There are some very creative and talented entries. Many of the videos use our old cellPACK model of HIV from the 2012/2013 challenge:

autoPACK and ePMV run smoothly in Cinema 4d R15

Preliminary tests indicate that our C4D R14 uPy Suite 1.0 works identically in the new version of Cinema 4d, R15 that came out last week. Upgrade at will!
